Four Rivers Natural History Association (FRNHA) 501 (c)(3) members work on experiential projects that engage participants with natural resources and public lands. We support interpretive and educational programs designed to build human knowledge and connections with natural environments. We form partnerships that collectively expand resources, diversify perspectives, and broaden opportunities.
We are a proud friends group to the Four Rivers Sector of the Central Valley District of California State Parks and Recreation. As such we seek to promote the wonderful resources of the region, including San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area, Pacheco State Park, George J. Hatfield State Park, McConnell State Recreation Area, Turlock Lake State Recreation Area, Great Valley Grasslands State Park and Caswell Memorial State Park.
We are sponsors for the Project WILD conservation education resources in the Central Valley as well as much of Northern California. Our volunteers provide information, develop partnerships, and facilitate workshops on Aquatic WILD, Flying WILD, Growing Up WILD, and Project WILD. In addition, we are partners with the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources program, offering a California Naturalist Certification course.
